Questions we hear a lot

Do I need a referral?

In South Dakota you can start without a referral from a physician. Your plan may still ask for one, so we check before your first visit.

Does my plan cover this, and do you take Medicare?

We bill many kinds of plans, including Medicare, workers' compensation and auto injury coverage. Your plan decides what it pays. Sherry checks your benefits and calls you before you come in.

What if I pay myself?

You pay on the day, and we give you a written estimate before your first visit. If your plan may reimburse you, we give you a detailed receipt to send in.

How long is a visit, and who treats me?

A first visit is about an hour, and later visits are shorter. Lien treats every visit herself.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on what we find, how long it has been going on, what your days ask of your body and how you respond. Lien tells you what decides it and checks in as you go. We do not promise a number.

What should I wear and bring?

Something you can move in, and your plan card, a photo ID and a list of your medicines. You stay clothed.

Will it hurt?

We work within what you can tolerate. Hands-on care can ache while it is done and leave you sore afterward. Tell Lien and she changes what she is doing.

Do you offer video visits?

Some follow-up visits can be by video for people who are in South Dakota at the time. Hands-on care is in the office.

Do you treat work or auto injuries?

Yes. If you were hurt in a crash or at work, get emergency care first. Tell us who your adjuster is. Your state decides who may direct your care.

Is dry needling allowed in South Dakota, and who does it?

State rules decide who may use it and what training is required. Lien goes through the current rule and her own training with you before she uses it, and only if you agree.
